ETI Honoured to Gain Second Queen’s Award
ETI Ltd honoured in Queen’s Birthday Honours List for the second time in three years! It is with great pleasure that Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd is able to announce for the second time in three years that Her Majesty the Queen has today graciously approved a Queen’s Award for Enterprise within the category of International Trade to the company, for manufacturing and supplying electronic thermometers to worldwide markets. ETI received the award previously in 2012.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise have been operating in various forms since 1966, developing over the years into the current format comprising of three annual awards for companies and one for individuals. Each year Her Majesty the Queen makes the Awards on the advice of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of Government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.
This award represents a significant achievement for Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd and the company is delighted to receive such a prestigious accolade. On receiving the award, Peter Webb, Managing Director of Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd commented: “Receiving a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for a second time is a fantastic achievement for the company. The award recognises the achievements and hard work undertaken by all of our employees. By keeping our manufacturing and Research & Development in the UK we have been able to support our local economy whilst successfully growing the business.”
Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd has been trading since 1983 and is the UK’s leader in the manufacture and design of Electronic Thermometers and Temperature Probes. Over the past few years ETI’s worldwide export sales have increased by over 90%, with their main export markets being North America, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise will be presented officially to Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd by the Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex and other local dignitaries at a ceremony that will take place at the company’s Worthing headquarters.
The Queen’s Award Press Book entry reads:
“Founded in 1983, Electronic Temperature Instruments Ltd manufactures, calibrates, services and repairs digital thermometers and other measurement instruments. It now has representation in over 80 countries and sales accounts in a further 20 countries. A 2012 International Trade Queen’s Award holder, it wins a further Award for continuing its outstanding overseas earnings growth and increasing its exports to 45% of total turnover. Electronic Temperature Instruments works closely with UK Trade & Investment to find routes into key emerging export markets, marketing its products as innovative, British made premium quality and further enhanced by local repair and calibration services delivered by global representatives.”
