Why ETI Installed an Evaporative Cooling System

Why ETI Installed an Evaporative Cooling System

Here at ETI we have recently installed a new system to help keep our staff and factories at a comfortable temperature throughout the warmer months. After a little research we contacted the guys over at ‘Clean Air Group‘ and decided to install an Evaporative Cooling System. Today we would like to share with you the reasons behind our choice and why you may want to consider it for your business too…

What Is an Evaporative Cooling System?

Quoted from the Clean Air Group website “Evaporative cooling installations work by drawing a constant flow of fresh air over water-saturated pads. As the water evaporates from the pads, it removes the heat from the air. Not only does this act as a ‘chiller’, it also filters dust and pollen from the air, ensuring a breath-easy atmosphere. The great thing about this cooling and ventilation system is that it uses water as its cooling agent, rather than potentially harmful chemical refrigerants. No wonder it scores full marks for its environmental credentials.”

Why Have ETI Chosen This System?

ETI have chosen to have this new system installed for a variety of reasons, including;

  • Evaporative cooling is a more environmentally friendly choice, containing no CFCs. As a business, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint where possible.
  • The system can consume approx. 80% less power than normal air conditioning units
  • It supplies constant fresh air ventilation, not recirculated stale air which is often unwelcome and can cause headaches among staff members

Peter Webb, Managing Director of ETI said “We have recently installed Clean Air’s evaporative cooling systems in two of our Worthing manufacturing factories.  The systems deliver an economical and environmentally friendly solution, providing a comfortable working environment for our production employees, at a considerably lower cost than traditional air conditioning, and with less environmental impact.”
